My name is Nefret Allen-Cantu and I am a third year Agroecology major. This summer I will be working at the Ken Norris Center to create an illustrated guide to the rare insects of Santa Cruz county. I am thrilled to work on this project because I am absolutely obsessed with bugs. In this internship I am excited to further my skills in scientific communication, illustration, and entomology. These skills are very important to me because one of my goals in life is to help push the public conversation on insects past the simple pest and pollinator dichotomy.
