Hi, my name is Noemi Chavez but I like to go by Mimi. I am a third-year transfer student majoring in marine biology. I grew up in Sonoma County and in my free time I enjoy going for walks, playing video games, and watching movies with my friends.

I am incredibly excited to work with Ari Friedlaender this summer on a project studying the body conditions of humpback whales with UAS. I’m looking forward to learning more about humpback whales and what barriers they face in the wild. I am so grateful for this opportunity!
