Hello, my name is Isaiah Gilmore and I’m studying ecology and evolution. I’m from Pasadena in LA and my interests include hiking, gardening, chess, fishing, and animals in general, basically anything that gets me away from LA.
I’m excited to get an early start in researching my field of study, as this is my first year at UCSC. I’ll be interning in the Palkovacs labs, getting knuckle deep in some fish guts. Hopefully, by the end of this opportunity I’ll have a better understanding of both the structures and behaviors of these native California rainbow trout.
